    December 16, 2015 /
    jeep-940x626

Reports continue to roll in regarding problems with the new 2014 Jeep Cherokee; specifically problems with the automatic transmission on the new Jeep Cherokee.  According to various sites including Automotive News, Car & Driver and autoblog.com, the problem is with the software, not the hardware.  Customers are complaining of various transmission problems, including shifting on it’s on own, stalled shifting, and even the vehicle just shutting off while driving. Jeep is aware of this huge problem, but has not yet seemed to have a permanenet fix to the issue nor has issued a recall. Car and Driver writes: “We’re not the only ones finding problems with Jeep’s nine-speed automatic transmission. Owners of the 2014 Cherokee have complained loudly enough that Chrysler is reflashing the ZF-sourced ’box a second time to fix rough and delayed gearshifts. According to Automotive News, Jeep dealers will update the transmission software on all unsold 2014…

In a case to be released on June 8, 2010, the Appellate Court reverses summary judgment granted in favor of the defendant UM insurer.  ERICA TODD v. NATIONWIDE MUTUAL INSURANCE COMPANY (AC 31041). The following quotes and paraphrases from the decision. The plaintiff was involved in an automobile accident in which her vehicle, which was covered by the defendant’s underinsured and conversion coverage policy, was struck by another vehicle that was operated by Christopher Bernacchi. Bernacchi’s vehicle was a leased vehicle that was owned by American HondaFinance Corporation (Honda) and insured by Pacific Employers Insurance Company (Pacific) under a liability policy with limits of $1 million. The plaintiff brought an action alleging negligence against Bernacchi and alleging that Honda was vicariously liable for Bernacchi’s negligence. The plaintiff also alleged that Bernacchi was an authorized driver of the leased vehicle. • 3 Tips For Finding The Best Personal Injury Lawyer In Connecticut

    December 16, 2015 /

Searching for a personal injury lawyer in Connecticut can be a daunting task at the best of times, but when you are injured the task can become overwhelming. A lot of research needs to go into finding an attorney with a great track record to insure the best possible outcome for your case. To help you do that, here are three tips to help you narrow the field of prospects. Bar Association All attorneys have to pass the bar exam to practice, but not all of them join the bar association. The better ones do. One quick way to narrow your choice of a personal injury lawyer in Connecticut is to call the nearest bar association to see if that attorney has a Curriculum Vitae on file. That is fancy way of saying that they have posted a resume of their skills and track record with the local bar association. This will…

CTV NEWS (Montreal) Bus passengers involved in a crash that killed a 14-year-old girl are trying to launch a class-action lawsuit against the bus company. Last month, the driver and 55 passengers were travelling from Trois-Rivieres to New York City when the bus ran off I-87 in North Hudson, N.Y. at about 8 a.m. The lawsuit will be launched in the state of New York, where the Canadian Cap (maximum compensation for a personal injury lawsuit, roughly $326,000.00) will not apply. Currently Jazlowiecki & Jazlowiecki represent over 30 victims of this bus accident. The Fleur-de-Lis bus company, which had owned the bus, subcontracted it out to another company. New York State Police are still investigating the exact cause of the crash, but they have determined that the bus was in good condition. In spite of that, the lawyer representing the passengers on the bus believe that the 61-year-old bus driver…

    Airbags lawsuit

Jazlowiecki & Jazlowiecki is currently accepting claims related to injuries caused by defective airbags, specifically those made by the Japanese supplier, Takata Corporation. It was reported in a recent NY Times article that 11 automakers have recalled more than 14 million vehicles globally, due to the risk of the defective airbags. The risk is that the inflator and propellent devices that deploy when there is a crash have been deemed to be defective, and are deploying improperly at the time of the accidents. It is described as a “rupturing” risk, where upon deployment, the airbag’s steel canister cracks and explodes which shoots metal fragments inside the vehicle. These defective airbags are being blamed for many serious injuries, some of which were fatal. A lawsuit was filed in Florida this week against Takata Corp. and Honda Motor Company, after an Orange County woman died after her airbag exploded causing her to…

  • From my first consultation with Ed Jazlowiecki, to working closely with Jonathan Newman for the past two years, I have always felt expertly guided and listened to with compassion. After a devastating car accident that I didn't see coming and long journey of seeking treatment they have been there every step of the way. Even when the insurance company responded with a disrespectful offer Jonathan filed a complaint with the Insurance Commission here in Florida. I am very grateful to have been represented by lawyers with such integrity and experience and highly recommend them.
